Dr. Anna R Gagliardi, PhD, is a health services researcher who specializes in implementation science, the study of methods that promote the use of research evidence in healthcare decision-making, to improve health services and health. She employs content analysis, qualitative, consensus, synthesis and multiple-/mixed-methods research techniques. Her research focuses on implementing: high-quality care for diverse women across the lifespan; patient and family engagement in healthcare planning and improvement; and clinical guidelines.
Dr. Gagliardi is a recipient of the University of Toronto’s Department of Surgery’s most prestigious research honor, the Lister Prize, a lifetime achievement award that recognizes researchers who have demonstrated exceptional and sustained productivity of international stature, evidenced by their scholarly publications, grant funding, mentorship of students, and other indicators of the global impact and significance of their work.
